Days of the Monthly Visitor (Wanted, but not really)
The early visits were arcane;
unaware 'twas a monthly campaign
and the cloak, black or rose champagne,
I'd leave door ajar, again n again

The child may emaciate like progeria,
sometimes with... hypoglycemia and anuria
With prompt drugs and 'honoraria',
the good child survives malaria
There exists a line, albeit arbitrary,
above which defines normalcy or luxury
and below, a world of penury
but can words describe the misery?
fluid build-up in the tummy, 'ascites',
caused by cirrhosis, pancreatitis,
cancer, TB, kwashiorkor or serositis
and may occur with swollen extremities
Doctor said: "A case of tetanus";
all else was monotonous
His face looked deathly grim,
as he mouthed "chance of survival, slim"
With impunity, I plunder your resources,
give you stipends and renew my promises
just in time to win another election
I am the embodiment of corruption
The legend... of three beautiful sisters
...first, second and third trimesters
not figures or creatures of fantasy
but calendar divisions to define pregnancy
Legend says they thrived at night:
fanged creatures that feared sunlight,
capable of afflictions, stealth and flight,
and siphoned blood, draining till white
My candid advice: write your will;
...a number of options on my bill,
from stroke to myocardial infarction;
...no escaping me, I am hypertension
The heart, the size of a closed fist,
a vital organ, ensures you exist
Lub-dub, lub-dub it pumps away,
every second, everyday
